Custom cards in release Mar 30 2025

Introduction

The new release focuses on long anticipated new features and integrations.

New Features

New features include major improvements in extensibility and integrations.

Custom cards and titles

The new release now allows adding your own cards! You can use either PNG or JPEG images for your cards. You can upload a card for the essential cards and T-Shirt cards and certainly the card’s back side that shows the extra cards. In addition to the images, the titles are also changeable.

To be able to change the cards, you need to open the settings box and go to the Cards section. There you can create/select your card preset or use the default and select the T-shirt (custom sequence).

Selecting the T-shirt (customs equence)

Then you will be able to upload new card images by clicking/touching the card and supplying a 1:1.5 ratio card image. The ratio is important to be able to fit the card on the screen properly. For example, if the width of the image is 300 pixels, the height must be 450 pixels.

There is a limit of 300kb per card image.

Uploading custom card images

Now you can add your own branding to the cards and bring custom experience to the voting session!

Since the custom cards can be used both for story points and T-Shirts, you need to set your preference in the summary box which is saved into the current preset if such is assigned or to the default settings if the story has no preset. You can use the [T|SP] buttons below the cards to switch between story points and T-Shirts.

Note: When using T-Shirts, the story points are also visible in the summary.

Azure Devops

Scrumpy Poker is now available for Azure Devops! You can get it from the marketplace. The extension brings native experience for Scrumpy Poker inside Azure Devops.

The most important view is the the board view which shows the list of stories to refine and the voting cards. This room is mostly enough for all users at it allows to see all stories, cards and participate in voting. It adds stories from saved queries. When added, the stories can be later rearranged and some of them removed if refining is not needed.

Main view

There is another view which is convenient for ad-hoc voting for particular stories. It appears in the work item’s details. Other participants who want to vote in the same view must also open the same item, or open the main view where the item will be set on focus automatically when open by the moderator.

The third view is in the backlog list which allows to switch stories from the backlog view and vote on them in the right pane. It is convenient to estimate an ad-hoc list of stories that is not available in the query, or add those stories in the list one by one. Other participants who want to estimate must also open the same item, or open the main view where the current item is automatically set on focus by the moderator.

Bugfixes

There are some small bugs fixed in this release around voting sessions.

Guests and voting session autocompletion

Before, when the voting session included guests (who cannot vote) and the Complete when everybody voted option was set, the voting was not completed, because the guests were counted as voters. Now this issue is fixed. Guests are no longer counted when deciding when to autocomplete the voting.

Happy voting!

All those nice features (and fixed bugs) have been completed thanks to our users – they have requested and we have implemented them. Please help Scrumpy Planning Poker become even more convenient for you by submitting a feature request/bug to our Feature Requests page or up-vote an existing feature that you find useful. Thank you!
